Jeff's Barbering 001While on vacation, I hit Day 60 of being Laid Off. I decided to get a shave and a haircut to mark the occasion. I found Jeff’s Barbering located at Seaside Farms Mount Pleasant – a short drive from Wild Dunes. The reviews were really good so on day 60 my destination was Jeff’s. I put the top down on my jeep with palm trees swaying overhead in the sea breeze. A blue sky with puffy white clouds drifting over the ocean greeted me as I motored down Palm Blvd. It was low tide and the air was filled with the smell of the salt marsh and pluff mud as I crossed the Isle of Palms Connector to Mount Pleasant. From the top of the Connector in the distance, the Ravenel Bridge can be seen.  Arriving to Jeff’s, I scored front row parking. The barber shop has a very pro American feel. The walls are decorated with military flags from all branches and the seating is made up of church pews. There is a sign up sheet at the entrance. I recall that there were several barber chairs and two barbers were working. At the back of the shop was a closed in area. I assumed that was Mr. Jeff who was with a customer. I was called by Eric the next available barber. He told me he had just moved to the area and had been at the shop for four weeks. He has a place right on the water at Folly Beach which sounded pretty cool to me. Eric had me in the chair for nearly an hour. The detail that he put into my haircut and shave was nothing short of amazing. I have never had a barbering service that was so relaxing.  While in the chair, I listened to locals banter with the barbers. It was a very down home experience. I was joking the other day that when I was due for my next hair cut I was headed back to Jeff’s-  only to find out that we may be going to Charleston in early August. So, hopefully, I will be getting my next haircut and shave at Jeff’s Barbering and I will make my appointment with Eric! Jeff’s Barbering
